Actually a keeper league can be what ever you want it to be. The first one I was in the Oriigina; Keeper League ( sadly defuct, which is to bad cause I had a KILLER team) was quite simple. You kept whatever 25-28 guys were on your roster from the end of the previous year, there was no limt to how many drops you had to make or how many guys you had to keep. It started as an 80mil DH league but chaegd to a 100mil DH league in it's last 2 seasons.
The 40 man leagues that splinter refers to, of which I run 2, are set up to be like a real MLB team with the exception being usulayy 2 seasons are played with the current year card set.
A lengthy rule set is drafted up and agreed uponm by the joining memebrs (If you chaeck the first post of most of the keepers on the Individual chat thread, you'll see an example) Rules contain expanations for drafts, size of the rosters, whether or not non carded players are used. You need a strong Commissioner to be a bookkeeper and a strong commitment from the owners involved becuase much of the roster stuff is kept off line by the commsioner.
If you want to start one, simply post your interste here and see if you get signups,. Now is a good time becuase the cards are coming out soon.
As already suggested, you may want to frequent the forums to see if replacements will be needed in existing leagues. Mine are all set this year, so far, but things happen.
Good luck.
