I am half way through my season. 81 games. Brett Gardner has been horrible to say the least. I didn't expect huge numbers from him but did think he would make for a good leadoff hitter. In 77 games 302AB (he is injured right now for 3 more games) he is hitting .166 (.277) OBP .281 (.383) SLG .222 (.379) and OPS .503 (.762). He has 50 hits for 7D 2T 2HR 45BB and 87K. I play at Camden Yards and have 2 Miller teams in my league. He is hitting .144 against LHP and .176 RHP. He is 3 for his last 39 with 8 walks and 15K's.
This guy has just been plain bad. I can't figure out why? I also have Choo playing RF and he was hitting around .400 for the first 60 games or so and right now he is batting .359/.456/.605/1.061.

Have you had anyone do this bad for you in this set?

He is my choice for LF or CF when I play small ball.
He's been outstanding everytime for me.

Move him around in the lineup. Sit him for a night.

That usually works for me.

If it doesn't start telling yourself you are going to move him. That seems to get them going as well... :)
