I know it gets better, but...

I know he has to hit better than this in the end, but here's the stats line for Carlos Gonzalez in Progressive Field. We're 21 games in, so it's early, but really...

Gonzalez, Carlos - .158/.256/.224

He's not even *sniffing* the Mendoza line. And an OPS of .480...

Another classic one 21 games in:

Miguel Montero (facing ONLY RHB) - .082/.196/.163

That's facing ONLY righties because there's a platoon. .359 OPS. Sweet.

How this team is 12-9, I'm not really sure. I can't complain about the overall results, but these two have to wake up some time, right? Maybe realize it's not spring training any more?

Maybe someone else is using their ID to sneak on the field.

Could you give us a link to your team please?

As a Miguel Montero owner (Keeper league that starts tonight) I'm eager to see what kind of righties he's facing in your division. Maybe they're all balanced towards left-handed hitters. Still though, I hope that it's merely a case of small sample size and the rolls haven't yet metriculated to his card.

If you want to keep track, here's the link:
http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/stratomatic/team/team_other.html?user_id=262610

Basically, in division (most of the games so far obviously - 6 of 8 series), he's facing guys like:
Masterson (x2) hard righty, Oswalt (x2) reverse righty, Beachy (x2) even-ish, Lincecum (x2) stud, Ogando (x2) hard righty, and Cueto even-ish.

Oswalt is the only reverse guy and he's not a stud by any means. But, I just checked and he has 29 hitter's card rolls and 38 pitcher's card rolls. So, he's only getting his card 43% of the time. Even given that card split, his card against righties should be way beyond what he has been doing.

I'm assuming it'll roll, but it's just strange that it's been so bad for him so far.

After some bad play in the last two series, he's gotten his BA up to .123!!! ;)

And to be fair, CarGo just put in a great series. 7-14, 1 BB, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 1 SB.

Moved his BA by .050 and SLG by 0.080. :)
