Aborted game-winning walk-off inside the park homer/single?

Really obscure moment.

Second series of the Twisted Reality league, I have the Giants. Cain has a no-hitter going to the ninth, gives up a single, it's 0-0 going to the bottom of the ninth. Cody Ross comes up with 2 runners on, and rolls a BPHR on his own card (1-10) against a righty reliever. The box score and game write-up label it a game-winning RBI single, no home run.

Does this mean that it was "going to be" an inside-the-park homer but the game was called as soon as the winning run crossed the plate?

This sounds like another advanced rule kicking in. One of the rules I believe can covert some BPH to double (or triples?) for some parks. So, if this is what happened, the double would end up being a single since the game would end as soon as the runner on third scored (and the other runner reached second and the batter reached first).

That's my guess anyway.
