Or are there ALOT of under-performers in this set?

Seems like way on too many teams, guys are just not hitting.

Yeah...I've been noticing the same...but then again, I've noticed underperforming pitching too. Kinda hard to have both, so maybe my teams are just plain ol' suckin' arse!

My beef is with ALOT of slanted guys Tom.

Crazy giving these guys the AB's against their strong side and still grossly under-performing.

I mean offense was down in the MLB again last season, it translates to strat.

the issue is a lot of us have been bread on OB being king, and there just isn't, apart from the top of the line hitters, any obp in the other guys. How many people have an OBP .350 or greater besides the studs (Pujols, Braunn's, etc)? Very little, which means offenses overall sputter.

But yea, I have one team in particular that the pitching has been great, but the hitting so awful they've lost 12 of their last 13!!! Gallardo on that team has gone 0-5 with an era south of 2! Guys just aren't hitting.

I agree.

I keep looking for OB from any source, but can't find it.

The guys on the FA list are similair to my fridge or cabinets.

I keep going back thinking I'll see something I missed or something else period. But no luck with either...

it seems to me the speedy decent BA guys are the ones who are not performing. Maybe it's just early. But guys like Bourjos, Maybin, Aybar, you know the guys. Guys who hit .280 to .300 with speed and defense. I'm looking around and the ones on my teams are that are like that are ALL struggling. Hitting in the very low .200's. If those guys just hit .270 with a .320 obp my teams overall would be doing much better.

My next team I may forgo all defense and just get guys who can rake. they will probably lose just as bad but at least the box scores will hopefully be interesting.

I agree, nothing worse than loose 3-2, or 2-1.....it is like nails on a chalk board....no difference but would rather get beat 11-7....or 9-8...not that I mind a great pitching dual....but it does get frustrating when it is a struggle each game to score 2 or 3 runs...

The OB% of my 2011 teams...

1. .302 (Pujols/Bautista/Victorino/Big Papi)
2. .305 (J. Montero/Fielder/Zobrist/Sutton/De Aza)
3. .309 (J. Montero/ Papi/ Sandoval/J. Carroll/Holliday/Ellsbury)
4. .309 (Napoli/Big Papi/ J. Weeks/Callaspo/Jennings)

Pujols: He didn't realize he had a down year since he's a monster still.
Big Papi: He's hot or cold. Nothing in between.
Bautista: Low BA/Low OB/ SLG just below .500
J. Montero: See Big Papi
Victorino: Can't hit or get on

I could go on & on, but I'll stop here.

This is just PATHETIC.
