Which is generally better- a $10 million and $2 millon combo or a two $6 million players? Is it a wash?
I have been going with 10 and 2. My results seem either really good or really bad.
To be more s[ecific I am not talking about a platoon but two different positions.
Opinions?

obviously depends on the players and the ballpark..
I tend to go with the 10 and 2 though, because I think the difference between an elite hitter and any other hitter is large, while a 2 million hitter is likely to hit close to what a 6 million hitter might in strato.
Generally, 1 elite hitter and 1 good 2 million hitter is harder to find than 2 middle of the pack guys.

I'm the opposite. I'd rather have balance throughout the lineup and would prefer the two 6's.

So (for 2011) you would rather have Konerko and Yunel than Miggy or Agon and Starlin Castro?
Just to put some names in there. I would rather have the second but I guess its a matter of opinion

Generally I prefer to have the two $6m, but it will depend on a lot of factors, including position. With shortstops, I will eat the fielding and spend $2m on a solid fielder because I accept a miserable hitter at SS. A $2m LF, not so much.

I agree.. Like I said it depends on the players and positions
