MLB 2006 Opening Day Strat-O-Matic League

The Yearly Tradition continues!! For the fourth consecutive season I will be running a SOM 200x league (the first being 2002, then 2003 & 2005) that will start its season as close as possible with the MLB Season.

[b:a893a42b63]IMPORTANT:[/b:a893a42b63] The season for this league will start on Monday April 3rd, to coincide as close as possible to the beginning of the MLB Season.

Do [b:a893a42b63]NOT[/b:a893a42b63] expect this league to start before then. It will [b:a893a42b63]NOT[/b:a893a42b63] start on March 20th or March 27th.

This WILL mean the league will NOT close EARLIER than Saturday March 25th and NO LATER than Friday March 31st

1 - 80m Salary Cap

2 - NO DH (last year we used DH so time for a change)

3 - Unique Ballparks with a twist - Maximum of 6 AL and 6 NL Parks. After 6 AL Parks have been chosen the remaining owners will have to choose from the NL & vice versa.

4 - Ballparks & Divisions will be determined by SEPERATE Pick III Lotteries. The First Lottery will determine Ballpark Draft Order. After the Ballparks are drafted the 2nd Lottery will be run to determine Division Assignments.

5 - The Lottery Results for BOTH drafts will be Low to High. 1/4/7/10, 2/5/8/11 & 3/6/9/12 will be the Divisional setup.

6 - Standard (default) - Waiver Priority is based on number of picks lost in the Auto-Draft. We will not be using Weighted Waivers as it is too soon to determine who are the popular draft picks.

7 - Advanced Skill Level (50 Manager Rating Points)

8 - Variable Free Agent Drop Penalty - games 1-41: 5%, games 42-80: 10%, games 81+: 20%
Due to the relative newness of 2006 I have decided to go with a more lenient Free Agent Drop Penalty

9 - Please use Baseball related Theme name if possible

10 - Do not forget your Pick III State when signing up.
