Kile, this is more of a version where you play the GM. You draft your players, set the lineups, pitching matchups. You give the computer (HAL) a general game plan (ie when to bring guys in, def subs, etc). But things like replacing injury guys is up to HAL. That is the part of this verison that really irks people.

You may want to look into buying the actual CD game, it lets you play online vs others. This version here is good, if you dont like the hassel of finding other to play, and you want someone else to do most of the work for you!

Hi kile32,

You can't control who HAL puts in for the second and third game. The best thing to have happen is the star gets hurt in the third game of the series that way you can adjust your lineup for the next series.

The Strat fan forum (unofficial) is a great place for people to discuss any of the 4 Strat games including baseball. There are often leagues forming there of various types plus it's a good way to meet others interested in the game.

The web site is

www.stratfanforum.com

In the baseball section I believe nearly half play the computer game while the other half play the board/dice game (actually many people play both). I'm partial to Strat football which has even more head-to-head strategy on a per-play basis.
