Just curious on thoughts on how I might go about improving this team. Playing in Turner with a USCellular, SBC and Minute Maid in the same division.
Think I did Ok, am I wrong? I still have time to fix as season doesn't kick off until Monday.
Any and all advice will be accepted and appreciated.

You've got some dead weight on your squad.
You really don't need 6 potential SP's. Papelbon should definately go. And I would look to combine Lee/Vazquez into a better #4 SP.
Barmes should go. Reyes is only going to miss 3 games max and you've got Izturis to back him up.
Your subs really should be $.50 guys, especially if a starter only goes down for 3 games max. The only time I will spend more on a sub is if my starter can get injured for 15 games. So guys like Ward, Barmes, Thames and Izturis while not alot of $, all add up to a few extra bucks to work with.
You need a decent back up only for Castillo. Cora, Scutaro, Cintron are the guys that come to my mind here. They can play 2B, and also back up other positions in your infield.
Beltre's card is ugly this year. I wouldn't use him. There is some nice talent to be had, platooning @ 3B this season, if you want to go that route.
RJ vs. rh's and Santana vs. lh's could get ugly for you, in the wrong ballpark. RJ pitching in Minute Maid for example or in US Cell.
You've got SP's that give up too many BPHR's...ie Vazquez/Lee.

I would also note you hitting seems to be mainly geared towards hiting lefties. Seeing as most people see roughly 70% RH pitching, that doesn't seem to be a recipe for success.
Ichiro is too good, I actually like Burrel's card this year. Is Sizemore there (doubt it) for CF? Perhaps Mauer or V Martinez at C? Not sure but that lineup will struggle to score IMHO.

HMMM..
what is your mix of rh vs lh starters in your division.
off the cuff...
drop
lee
wood if you want a reliever better off spending 1.75 on a straight reliever.
pick up a .50 s5r3 guy for mop up.
drop ward... pujols is a rog injury as is reyes?
drop isturis and the other infielder and spend on a solid 2b backup as castillo can go down for 15.
1.26 is too much for a backup catcher who is better vs lhp but not better than redmond.
drop beltre and see if Bell is available for lhp and allmost anybody who is available should be better than beltre. you need some obp.
may even have enough to upgrade beltran.

I would drop Cliff Lee and get some better middle relievers. They are used heavily and I don't think you have the horses. Woods has been a huge surprise for me so far with 4-0, 1.02 ERA. Hope he does it for you. Agree with everyone else's suggestions.

well since Pete's site is updated. I can now look at your FA's...
Personally, I would switch toa 5 man totation, Felix + harden, small, morris and moyer. That is techinically .31 mil less, and more effective IMO.
Even if not, Lee and Vazquez both have way too may BP hr's, replace those 2 with say Moyer... and a .50 sp only, and use the extra $$ to pump up other areas. not a fan of RJ either, except in L balanced stadiums.
Would definetley change your catcher to a Valentine/Olivo platoon.
[b:1266a9b0b8]Is this a no DH league[/b:1266a9b0b8]?
If not Hafner is an excelltent choice, as is Crawford at LF.
