2006 team....need feedback

Postby AM HOUSTON » Sat Apr 01, 2006 8:17 pm

1st 2006 team and the first time I've used Yankee Stadium. Other ballparks in my division are US Cellular, Fenway and Comerica.

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/team/team.html

Rotation will be Smoltz, Buehrle, Burnett and Mulder. Are any of these guys a wrong fit of Yankee Stadium

I have some concerns about my leadoff man and centerfield. Would rather have a real leadoff hitter but not much available....any suggestions?

My projected lineups are:
vs. lhp

Beltran - cf
Eckstein - dh
D. Wright - 3b
Teixeira - 1b
Sheffield - rf
M. Ramirez - lf
Grudzielanek - 2b
Vizquel - ss
Schneider -c

vs. rhp

Vizquel - ss
Eckstein - dh
M. Ramirez - lf
Teixeira - 1b
D. Wright - 3b
Sheffield - rf
Beltran - cf
Schneider - c
Grudzielanek - 2b

Any feedback?

Thanks

i like your pitching but in using natan as closer imho, is a lil waste of $$, i normally dont use an expensive closer but thats just me

normally id say you're a lil weak vs RHP but in your div you are lookin at 50/50 split. you definitely could use some OB as well maybe some LHH.

im not a fan of tex, think you could downgrade maybe here....

Your link works now!

I like your team very much. I would drop Beltran down to where Grudz is in the LH lineup, move Grudz to #2 and move Eckstein up to #1. I am not a fan of Beltran but with all the bats you have you can afford to have his good glove.

I would also cut Marlon Anderson since Teixera is an ironman and can never be injured at all. Also drop Durham and get a sub-1m 2B that is at least a 3 fielder for a backup. There are several out there. I really like Nunez or Cintron, but there should be several to pick from. This should give you around 1m to upgrade somewhere else. I probably would spend it upgrading Ray King.

Good point on Anderson, I really don't need him. Nunez and Cintron are not available - slim pickins on any 2b subs no one that is gonna fit. I also agree on King, had Schoenweis but gave him up a few days ago to have extra cash for Beuhrle.

I know I have a few sluggers in Teixeira, Ramirez, Sheffield and Wright.....but would you keep Teixeira @ the cleanup spot against lefties and righties? Should I shake these guys up.

I have some reservations at batting Ramirez in the #6 postion vs. lefties....just so many runs produced...am I wasting him there?

I think you are right about Tex. I would drop him to 6th vs LHP and move Sheffield and Ramirez up one spot. Tex still hits LHP but doesn't have the power that the other guys have. You have an awesome murderer's row there with Wright, Sheffield, Ramirez and Tex. Borrowing a line from Mr T, "I pity the fool" who has to pitch against that lineup!
