John Patterson pitched 31 games in 2005. He pitched 198.1 innings. So what do I get?
INJURY: John Patterson INJURED (for 15 more games) in 1st inning
15 GAMES?????????
Lucky I've got Arroyo on the team.

well a full season form a starter if he pitched every 5th day without missing a start is 33-35 starts.....
so patterson will missd 3 starts...............
it is a bad break however

Quite a surprise to me. I've been playing TSN Strat for years, and I've never had a starter go down for 15 games. Of course, right away I begin thinking conspiracy--i.e., had I not been carrying 5 starters who can pitch on 3 days, HAL wouldn't have stuck me with this injury.
Up to now, I had Arroyo slotted as a long reliever, and he's got an ERA of 7.00+ after the first week of games, so I'm really concerned about this next stretch. A lot of good lefties and switch hitters in my league. Uggggh.
Makes me wonder. This is one of my first teams where I've carried five SP*s, and this is the first time this has ever happened to me.

200 innings pitched is the cut off to have a 3 game max injury. As you said he only pitched 198.1, just short.

So at 200 IP a starter essentially can't get injured beyond removal from the game (since 3 days would be eaten up by rest anyway)?

basically yes. Just many people think the * means 3 games max, but the real pass mark is 200 innings.

I lost Ted Lilly, who had similar starts and innings and *status, several time last year for 10 games or more...
Guys below 200 innings can definitely go down for multiple games, at least with the rules TSN is using.
