I would say Soriano is a good value at a hitters park as a DH vs. RHP.

I have him in an auto-league and he is hitting just over .300 with 12 homers halfway through the season.

Good performance from a player costing less than 3.00 M.

I would not use him at 2B under any circumstances, though.

That is a pretty general question, and the general answer is "yes"! The more expensive guys are better than everyone else, so they are worth the money! Can have good and bad seasons of course, but generally speaking, will out perform less expensive guys.

As for Soriano, I don't think his card is that great this year, very low OBP (which is KING is SOM imo), and his D is HORRIBLE....not anyone i will be using!

Good luck!

one of the problems i see with the 6-8 million guys is that a lot of them are one sided....

and/or are ballpark specific.

my favorite example is richie sexson over 8 mil but really needs to be used in a hitting park with hitting parks in the rest of your league to be worth it.

imho.

Nope. Especially that ARod guy. Terrible. Overpriced. Do not bother drafting him.

Sexson (vs-R = 35/41/7/8 ) would be a great #5 HR/slugger vs R, in a park like CHA. Or some of the other obvious choices (TEA, CHN, CON, HON). Of course he'd be great at 3 or 4 vs-L.
