It is still early days but can anyone help me with this team, or at least reassure me that it is just bad rolls which has kept my BA OBP and SLG so low. Home park is Petco.

My recent teams have done pretty well mostly but this one stinks so far and I don't want it to get away from me.

Line up vs L
Michaels
Chavez
rodriguez
Hillenbrand
Anderson
Langerhans
Wilson
Sizemore
Grud

Vs R
Garabito
Michaels
Howard
Sizemore
rodriguez
Langerhans
Wilson
Grudzialenek

Many thanks

Try to deal Howard, Chavez & Anderson for guys with higher BA, OPB, fewer ball park HR's, more speed & solid D. Your stadium kills guys like Howard. Build your team around rock star pitching, high OB%, speed & solid D. A high SLG is going to be a definte challenge at that stadium. Howard & Chavez eat a decent amount of payroll & don't fit that stadium as well as guys with better OB%. Chavez' glove makes him a harder guy to part with on a team that is going to be hitting challenged. All three of those guys would be appealing to PNC & Shea teams or teams that are power friendly to lefties. Manufacture runs & play small ball. D. Ortiz can hit for power anywhere. Another guy who fits is Ichiro. I know those are hard guys to acquire, but those are the type of players that fit. You need .300+ hitters with high OB%. Look for deals or you will continue to scuffle offensively.

The hitting talent is in my view too spread out over 10 or 11 players when you can only have 9 in the lineup. 3-4 million dollar hitters can be very good values but a team full of mostly those can struggle on offense and when at least one of them is on the bench at all times that's money wasted in my view. If the 20% rule is in effect then it's unfortunately too late to make a meaningful change, though, since the season has started.
