Grudzielanek goes down, but I've got 2 utility infielders that can fill the bill, a 3e13 and 4e24

What does Hal do? Starts Brad Ausmus a 5e41 at second base? LOL

Fortunately I won the game 10-3 and Ausmus was 2 for 3, but .........

wait until hal puts him in at ss

really something should be done about this. ausmus played one inning at 2nd and one inning at ss last year. those two positions shouldnt even be on his card. there needs to be some tweaking of the injury substitutions it is just not realistic.

Meanwhile, Heilman can't start in SOMO (7 starts in 2005 IIRC).

This IS a pretty crazy example of HAL's roster mismanagement. A lot of people complain about the pen manuevers, but lineups are where he true game engine problems are.

couldnt agree more

I am actually tired of the bullpen arguments. I see the points on both sides but bottom line if you build a good deep pen hal will do ok not great but ok. the teams that get burned the most are the ones with one super reliever and two or three specialists. It is just not a realistic pen and you cant expect hal to make the correct decisions.

However

the lineup substitutions are indefensible and it doesnt seem like it would take a lot to have hal make less ridiculous injury substitutions.
