Help prevent a dive...

The Balco Bandits started off the season well, building a lead in the division of about 10 games. This trend has not been lasting however, as my co-owner and I have made trades which we thought would help the team, but have seen nothing but 1-2 series since. We are now losing our lead ever so slowly, and am wondering if there is anything we can do that would be beneficial.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd go:
vs. RH's:
Jeter-SS-(49.2 OB chances vs. 30.3 OB chances for Cantu)
Beltran - CF-(Hit and Run checked)
Pujols (1B)
Cabrera (You have him in LF? He's better @ 3B)
Vlad (RF)
Cantu (Where is he playing?)
LRod
Matheny (C)
Pierre (I assume he's DH'ing?)

Don't trade your best pitcher.
Ayala and Osoria are basically the same thing so 1 of them could go to free up $, if needed.
You've got 2 great RP's so they should be getting the majority of the innings.
The other RP's are 1 sided guys and should ALL be on "Quick Hook". Osoria should never be pitching more innings than Ryan.
vs. LH's...(You really have no one to lead-off)
Is David Bell available? Or Loretta? (Both have high OB %)
then...
Beltran
Guerrero
Cabrera
Pujols
Jeter
Byrnes (He could play in a platoon role with someone. He's got decent #'s vs. LH's for the price as does Kapler...)
Cantu
Rodriquez

Watch your steal settings, BB. You're giving away too many outs for the return you're getting. That can be murder in a pitcher's park.

I wish I could help, but I specialize in assembling teams that dive. My teams are either losers out of the gate, or if they win early, they tank late. At anyrate, judging by the name of your team maybe it's time to go back into the Balco labs and create a new performance enhancer to remedy the losing. :)

I have a dive automatically scheduled midway through every season. WTF?
