Who ever gave Elvis the nickname "the King" obviously hadn't heard of Billy Wagner. YTD stats w/ 15 games to go are below.

Pitchers (10)
Name T End. W L S BS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA WHIP BAL Salary
Wagner, Billy 2 2 52 6 89.0 48 21 20 19 99 5 2.02 0.75 3L 6.50M

All I can say is "Oh my!"

I was disappointed with him in my recent Kaufmann team

Name T End. W L S BS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA WHIP
Wagner, Billy 9 13 28 8 133.0 108 43 42 51 142 16 2.84 1.20

Not bad, but not great, (78% save rating) esp for 6.5 mill!

But better on a recent Camden team....

Name T End. W L S BS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA WHIP
Wagner, Billy 4 5 19 4 81.1 51 17 17 33 91 6 1.88 1.03

83% is more like it! But I agree, what a card! :)

Here's what he did for me in Jacobs:
Wagner, Billy L R1/C6 6 1 30 6 83.0 43 15 15 25 85 5 1.63 0.82

only 30 saves, but 2 others had 6 each, and he had 1 15 gamer and 1 8 game injury

For my 1st Tour team. Through 108 gms, exactly 2/3 of the season, 30 SVs & only 1 blown, WHIP .67.... 8)

I had, it seems, the bad luck of most of the rolls coming off the batter's card when he was pitching for my team. Hoffman did better.

Not bad, especially with a title under your belt there. But if I end up winning this league, Wagner will have about 100 IP & 45-50 saves. I like my usage a little better in that scenario....

2 1 37 3 67.0 33 9 9 12 71 4 1.21 0.67

Here is Wagner's stats for a 54-57 team in Petco. Dominant! 92.5% save percentage and the 0.67 whip is very tough! 1.21 era is not too shabby either.

Off subject a little, for the money I would go with Frankie Rodriguez instead.

Seeing some Billy wagner stats in a couple of my leagues has me convinced. Notably Quicksilvers in my first Tour league and a Cristano team in a live draft(7-1/15-5/sub2.00/sub1.00). I just put a proxy in on him and I'm one pick away from getting him in Tour league #3. I have Krod on a few teams, including a couple in good-great parks for him. He isn't dominant and even when his stats are good, he seems to blow & lose his share due to all the BB's. I still think he's(Krod) good for the $$$, but can't be mentioned with the likes of Wagner.
