Hey guys,
I've put together a team to play at Fenway....it's got some good pieces to start with I think, but would love some advice and opinions, please.

bad link. Go to league statistics and click on your team. Copy the URL and paste in your reply here. You will know if you did it right if the link ends in a number instead of .html.

Does this one work???

I think you have a very interesting team there David. DLee and ARod are going to be monsters in Fenway I think. Your other starting players are excellent complimentary players IMO.

I worry about Radke and Wood on the road. In PETCO, Kaufman or RH parks like Fenway, Minute Maid, etc they should be fine. Anything else and watch out. Although Cliff Lee should be fine in Fenway since he is slanted towards RH batters I would let Radke or Wood start at home and try to make sure Carpenter, Patterson & Lee start on the road unless it is a park friendly to Radke/Wood.

Your RP are suspect too but when you have both ARod and DLee you have to scrimp somewhere.

I would drop Wood entirely and pick up a $.50 mil SP only, leave him out of the rotation (so he wouldn't pitch except under extraordinary circumstances) and use the extra cash to upgrade your 4th starter's spot from Radke, if possible (he's not the worst pitcher in the world for a Fenway team -- will just give up a few homers, mostly solo, but I think he'll keep you in games. Just be wary of LH-leaning slugger's parks). If not, strengthen your bullpen.

Like your club from an offensive standpoint. You'll score runs.

thanks MoCrash!

A couple of thoughts....

You have spent about 2 1/2 mil too much on catching. Redmond and Methaney are both W hitters. You can get a C that hits RHP for alot less. Same for a c that hits LHP. Try a platoon from Ausmus on down in price range.

You will need a solid b/u at 2b. Hudson will go down....try....Harris, Carroll etc...yes I would take a 3 with low E's who can get on base in this spot.

If you are going to go with Woods to start at home I'd go with Cabrerra instead. Cheaper, just as stong vs. RHH and can survive vs. LHH( Woods is a trip to therapy waiting to happen vs. LHH).

As a matter of fact I'd consider keeping your top 2 starters and go with 3-4 match-up starters after them. Hampton, Papplebon, Sosa, H. Ramirez are a few that come to mind.

good point about Hudson....crap.....I didn't realize he was a 2/injury!

not sure about the catchers. I like their D, and they hit alot of doubles. Also not sure if there is another good choice avail???

Interesting point about the pitching. I will think on it. I like your idea about having matchup pitchers to go with carpender and patterson.

any thoughts on cheap pen options to go w/ KRod???

Thanks!!
