Line-up help

Postby MICHAELEVANS » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:01 pm

I am trying a bomber team and am getting severe underperformance from York, Morgan, Evans, and Ruth. I just shook up the line-ups today, after getting swept by the 1st place team. Here are my current line-ups (as changed today) LHP/RHP

Morgan/Morgan
Wagner/Wagner
Ruth/Ruth
York/York
Carter/Doby
Bando/Bando (he was batting 8th before, and look at his numbers!)
Doby/Carter
Evans/Evans

Any thoughts on the team? I am in 2nd place and right in the WC hunt. The FA wire is pretty miserable for LF (only 3.324M available if I drop Evans), which is why I ended up with Evans.

Lead off Wagner, bat Morgan 2nd, move Bando up to 4th.

Dump Evans and find a lefty LF since you're facing 2-1 RHP-LHP. Maybe Devore or Leibold??

Thanks, I followed your suggestions. I decided on Devore. I am batting him 8th on this lineup.

I believe your team is out performing, hope your record keeps up, but it may not.

Here are your numbers with Devore:

OBP vs RH 0.422
SLG vs RH 0.439
OPS vs RH 0.861
HR Rate vs RH 4.1
BPHR vs RH 42
OBP vs LH 0.442
SLG vs LH 0.452
OPS vs LH 0.894
HR Rate vs LH 4.6
BPHR vs LH 36

Your 4.43 ERA is excellent given your relatively cheap staff. Your run production, is also quite good, over 5.5 RPG. I have found a good measure of run effectiveness is to multiply OBP * SLG * ABs. Normally your actual runs scored is 2-3% below this value, you are ahead by about 5%.

Carter, York, Bando & Wagner are doing great, Morgan and Ruth's OBP are a bit low, but the Babe is on a 60 HR pace.

Sorry, consider yourself lucky at this point.
