A Lesson Learned

In a trade discussion with another owner (no need to mention any names) we almost had a done deal. He then apologized and said he was having second thoughts. No problem I told him, I'll just swap out one of my guys, and go get *so-and so* from the free agent list.....I told him why I liked that particular guy, and how he'd fit into my plans. I go to make that move, and wouldn't you know the owner had picked him up for himself. LMAO! :lol:

In future trade offers I'll just select accept or decline with no discussion. Lesson learned :)

I'd defer to those with more experience, but I've found an explanation of why you don't like the trade can help a counter offer. Some of it is a different actual value of the player, and that players value to a team as it stacks up. You can think a guy is looking for a LF with speed, and he's looking for RF with power, or something like that.

And sometimes it doesn't work out.
