which four in Polo?

which four in Polo?

Mays, Clemente, Bowa, Cash

or

Snider, Cuyler, Durocher, Hernandez?

Which side of that trade would you want to be on - both teams in Polo

absent balance of team issues, does it seem obviously one sided either way?

I would not say it was obviously one sided OT...

Mays for Snider - I prefer Mays anytime, but snider is certainly no slouch...probably a wash, more a matter of preference here IMO

Cuyler for Clemente - Cuyler the favorite here IMO, but again, roberto is no slouch, but is probably better suited for a pitchers park...advantage Cuyler

Hernandez for Cash - Cash more of a Polo type player, Hernandez better suited for a pitchers park...advantage Cash, but again, Hernandez is no slouch!

Bowa for Durocher - a wash IMO...Bowa probably a bit better, but in Polo, neither is going to make or break your team...

my .02 :)

It seems the decision is RH power (Mays) vs LH power (Duke). The determinent would be road parks and opposition SP make-up.

All things equal you take Willie.

Close call, but I'd go with the Mays package. Can't beat his durability, defense, power and speed, although I love the Duke. For me, Cash over Hernandez, in Polo, is easy. I'll take Bowa for his D, speed and 3 game injury risk over Durocher. Cuyler is the only guy in the other deal I'd want, over Clemente, but I could easily live with Roberto and his awesome D, especially if I had a good backup/platoon mate to compliment him.

Is this a trick question?

You get Mays and save money as well.

Aren't you supposed to give lectures on Polo, not ask questions about it? No one knows that place as well as you.

I like the trade either way, depending on what holes the rest of my team fills.

It wasn't actually a trade, it was a free agent overhaul, so the Mays package actually cost me extra.

Frank Zappa Lives axed Bowa and I think Mays and Clemente for some reason about 60 games into the season.

I had started out with the first group, who were struggling, but in first at 40-35. When I saw the free agent wire, I shed some cheap pitching (Reuther and Coffman) for some cheaper pitching (Caldwell and Harper) and then exchanged the rest.

The new lineup has gone 40-23 even with Caldwell in the rotation. While I wouldn't have made the change if I hadn't thought it would be an improvement, looking things over I've been somewhat suprised by the magnitude of the impact.

Thus I was curious what others thought. I clearly would rather have the Mays package any day if for no other reason than the defense, but viewed the (normally more expensive) Snider package as relatively comparable talent wise.

Frank, funny you should comment here. You were neck and neck with this team for the division lead before I made these moves. That's no longer the case. :)

And I believe you are scheduled to extend your lead by adding to my three-game losing streak tonight. :(

Good moves.
