LOOKING TO YOU VETERANS FOR HELP TO A ROOKIE

I NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING PITCHING. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME PLAYING. I AM IN THE ALL TIME GREATS LGE. I HAVE CHRISTY MATHEWSON WHOM IS A S7/R5. I DO START HIM, BUT WHEN I'M IN A SERIES THAT HE IS NOT SCHEDULED TO START, I TAKE HIM OUT OF MY ROTATION. I THEN AM IN HOPE THAT HE WILL PITCH IN RELIEF FOR A SERIES. I LIST HIM IN THAT SERIES AS MY SETUP MAN FOR INNINGS 6 TO 8. I STRATAGIZE THAT SERIES BY MARKING MY STARTERS TO NOT PITCH OVER 6 INNINGS. THE REST OF MY BULLPEN IS TERRIBLE. EVEN THOUGH I SET THIS UP SO CHRISTY CAN PITCH RELIEF FOR THE SERIES, HE NEVER DOES! NOT ONCE HAS THE COMPUTER PUT HIM IN TO PITCH RELIEF. IT ONLY LETS MY STARTERS PITCH 6 INNINGS, BUT THEN GOES TO ALL MY TERRIBLE BULLPEN PITCHERS. PLEASE TELL ME WHY CHRISTY NEVER PITCHES IN RELIEFUNDER THIS STRATEGY. HELP!

A couple of things....First it might help to post your roster link so people could see your team....HAL has a feature I am to understand that takes "tiredness" into the equation....You can not start and relieve the same guy consistently....yes of course for a batter or two, he might use him in a long game but that kind of manipulation just doesn't work
