Theme league: 6 teams must be in parks rated 0 for HR's but can have no pitchers above 6 million. The other six in parks rated 20 for HR's or 67 Fenway but can have no hitters above 6 million.

Is Gehrig a waste especially since I am overly left handed? Too much hitting/not enough pitching? I will probably change things many times and end up pretty close to where I start as per usual but wanted some thoughts especially since my all hitting no pitching teams always suck.

Back to work for me now.

Made some changes.

The team is oftly left handed, can you get another DH other than Doyle? I would use Red Murray who would fit the park and could fill in case of injury in the OF and you have Maz who could in injury case DH vs lefties effectively. Has good clutch and is a good bottom of the order man, and if you were looking to upgrade hitting I would take Steinfeldt for 3B and forget the platoon. For 1st base I'd take Cooper for his better Defense in a pitcher park and the fewer DP's he hits than Ripper, although Ripper is OK too,

I would then load the team up with better pitchers- Hillebrand, Ryan, Turner, Hiller are possibilities. The 5 day starters are higher quality even though you need 5 of them, you can get the pitching quality you need.

I would also use Valentine instead of Furillo or if you want to go more pitching Clemente, especially with your left handers and the 6 HR parks. I like the combo of Valentine and Cooper in a pitcher park when there are hitting parks in the league.

I don't know if he's available, but Roger Craig has been a great value for me in pitcher's parks. Always .500 or better win percentage, and has outdueled some big-name opponents who cost a helluva lot more.
