How would YOU bat these guys? Obviously I don't know how!

This team is not meeting my expectations pretty much all the way around, but the hitting is what's really hurting me.

Here's the team:

And here's how I'm batting them:

Lineup vs. LHP

1. Crawford, Sam (L) 1B
2. Collins, Eddie (L) 2B
3. Wagner, Honus (R) SS
4. Dimaggio, Dom (R) CF
5. Weaver, Buck (R) 3B
6. Slaughter, Enos (L) RF
7. Hershberger, Willard (R) inj C
8. Clarke, Fred (L) LF
9. Pitcher P

Lineup vs. RHP

1. Crawford, Sam (L) 1B
2. Collins, Eddie (L) 2B
3. Wagner, Honus (R) SS
4. Slaughter, Enos (L) RF
5. Weaver, Buck (R) 3B
6. Clarke, Fred (L) LF
7. Dimaggio, Dom (R) CF
8. Hershberger, Willard (R) inj C
9. Pitcher P

1. Clarke (solid, be patient)
2. Collins
3. Wagner
4. Crawford
5. Slaughter
6. lil D
7. Weaver
8. Hersch
9. Pitcher

Yeah I feel your pain. There's such a small margin of error with these type teams. If you were getting better pitching (and you should) you'd be + .500

A Griffith staff's ERA should be no more than 3.25, usually under 3.00 :) so I think your pitchers should be a bigger concern than the sticks.

Agree with Nev, your pitching is more of an issue right now.

Your hitting may not be that far off, .325 OBP is OK, SLG of .366 is low, but maybe not that far off. 3.9 RPG is reasonable.

Your run efficiency (OBP * SLG * ABs) is better than average, expected value = 223, same as actual. RS vs RA adds up to 24 wins, right on target.

Tippy and Hughes are getting banged around a bit, your SPs are not dominating, your defense is decent. Hope not, but you might be in trouble.

Agree with both of you to a point. 3 starters are doing fine, it's the 4th starter that keeps getting beat up, can't figure out why.

Never seen Tippy get hit this hard in a pitcher's park either, Hughes is what he is, only has 11 innings, so I'm not too worried about him.

I'm gonna shake up the lineup and see how it goes for a week or so.

CR,

Recently had a very similar team, same issue, could not seem to score runs. Not sure I have the formula yet on these Forbes teams ..... :)
