Where to bat Clemente vs LHs?

Love his hitting, especially vs LHs, (and his defense, of course). But, oh MAN, those DPs! What spot in the lineup is the best to reduce the impact of all those DPs? His hitting would seem to warrant up in the order, but the DPs make me think lower is better. This is a DH league, btw. :?

I've played with this Clemente season for years with the board game. He is safest in the 5 hole. The theory being that he will bat with 2nd base occupied, 2 outs, or lead off the following inning.

I know your in the dome, but I think your team would bennifit from having at least 1 homer whacker. I think Simmons looks better than Speaker in CF here if you can get him. Mays would be even better if you could juggle the salery. Looks like you have too many high average get on base guys and nobody to bring them home.

I just finished with a team in the dome a few weeks ago. I had Clemente in RF He finished 2nd in the league in batting at 364. He finished 3rd in hoovers (double plays) at 28. Larry Doby in CF led the team with 32 HR. Sandy Koufax won the Cy Young and MVP. Made the playoffs, lost to Frank Baily in the first round.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Danielz, just a note that vs LHs, Burns will be batting and playing 1b, instead of White. Toyboys, valid point about the power. I think, given what's on the FA wire, what power I have will have to suffice. Vs RHs, in hitters parks, my power, such as it is, will be provided mostly by Dickey and White. Vs LHs, it will be Jones and Dickey.

OK, here's I have my lineups set at the moment. 5th it is for Clemente vs LHs. He is batting both ways, so how does 9th work for him, to nullify the DPs somewhat? :)

Lineup vs. LHP
1. Collins, Eddie (L) 2B
2. Speaker, Tris (L) CF
3. Wagner, Honus (R) SS
4. Jones, Cleon (R) LF
5. Clemente, Roberto (R) RF
6. Alou, Jesus (R) DH
7. Dickey, Bill (L) C
8. Burns, George (R) 1B
9. Weaver, Buck (R) 3B

Lineup vs. RHP
1. Jones, Davy (L) DH
2. Collins, Eddie (L) 2B
3. Wagner, Honus (R) SS
4. Speaker, Tris (L) CF
5. Jones, Cleon (R) LF
6. Dickey, Bill (L) C
7. Weaver, Buck (R) 3B
8. White, Bill (L) 1B
9. Clemente, Roberto (R) RF
