Does Anyone else suck as bad as me????

Count me in geezer!

My teams have been horrible lately, and far too often to blame it on chance. As a rational person, I would like to think I'm just on a bad streak. I guess it could be the case, but my luck seems to turn to sh$* only when I turn on my computer. Anyway geezer, you are not alone. There are others addicted to a game they suck at. Wow, I wish I'd have done this venting sooner. It's almost cathartic. C'mon ATG III - jayem

Cheer up, guys. I'm one of the all-time "suckers." If there were an HOF for Strat on-line "suckers," that's where I'd be. How's this: 41 completed ATGII seasons, not only no championships, but [b:87118209bf]no finals[/b:87118209bf], even. Six playoffs, losing to the eventual champ in four of those, at least taking the champ to five in all of those four. Of course, I ascribe a lot of it to "bad luck," like those two playoffs in a row, one where I lose in five, 3 Finger beating me in games 1 and 5, and then it's my turn with the Finger, the difference being he [b:87118209bf]loses for me [/b:87118209bf]in games 1 and 5.

I know it's not all luck, since guys like Petrosian, Mr. Bailey, OT, etc. keep winning over and over. This makes it only the more bitter.

Well, over all it's not bitter, since I love this game, and keep coming back 'cause i'm having a great time. I'm an addict like the rest of you.

Right now, I'm watching a team that opened up 9-0 and 19-6 going into the toilet. Finally fell out of first last night. Tons of one run losses, etc. etc. At least I have three others in first out of the six currently running. Waiting for the collapses. :(

And I got a "bomber" team lined up to draft tonight in a league with Frank Bailey, Nev, OT and Petrosian. Hope springs eternal. Maybe 37 of those 41 teams were pitcher type teams in places like the Stick, Griffith, etc. I actually have a pretty good record with "bomber" teams. Because I love pitching in real life, I've gone againt my Strato grain. So . . .

Look out Bailey, Nev, OT and Petrosian! Teams called "Guns Blazing," in OT's division. Fenway '67. It's my year! :D :P  :? :(

Anyway, guys, hope springs eternal. Spring training in the real world is around the corner. And this game is the bomb.

Take it from a real "sucker." 8)

See ya all in the second division.

Crane, you're absolutely what Ring Fling is all about!

It's for folks with no rings.

Keep an eye open for Fling V. IV is just starting this week, so it will be about 6 weeks.

Hopefully, you won't be eligible for the league by then.

Wow - how many other golfer who suck are in this thing - I started playing in my late 30's joined a club in my mid forties (20 handicap) - had a great year and got my index down to 13.7 - and watched it slide back up (too much work, bad weather and this SOM stuff) to 16.7
And I'm about 50 games under .500 with my eighth season
We need to set up an ATG Golf outing!

bkeat23,

If I haven't won one by then . . . maybe I should just say I'll keep my eyes open and join up when it comes around. I should be in that league. Obviously.

badnewshares,

Golf? You kiddin' me? I'm not that big a sucker. Last time I played I broke an iron. And that was my best day on the greens.

Postby MICHAELEVANS » Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:30 am

In the 12 days since I last posted (and my teams were a combined 4 games OVER .500) my teams are now a combined 26 games UNDER .500. Of my active teams, one won 91 games and is in the semi-finals starting tonight. The other 5 active teams are ALL under .500, with the best being only 3 games under and the worst being 21 games under. The 5 teams are a combined 206-256, for a winning pct of .446  How appropriate that most of my teams are named "Senators"....
