Finished League Results

Postby motherscratcher » Fri Jul 01, 2011 9:01 pm

I was wondering if there was a way to look at leagues that have already finished. It would be interesting and helpful to see how successful teams have been constructed, players faired in different types of parks, diffrent strategies that have been successful, etc.

it would make it much easier to steal...errrr...put together teams with players that I'm not familiar with.

I'm assuming the stealing thing is the reason that I can't find any of this type of info.

Well, you CAN do some "mining" of the message boards.

There are dozens of pages of posts on the ATG message boards. go back a few pages, start reading all of the posts, and whenever someone has posted a link to their team, you can look through those leagues and review the makeup of the division winners. If you have enough time and motivation, a lot of information can be gleaned.

OR, just play a bunch of leagues and you will learn what works and what does not.

Seek and you shall find.

It's a share thing, knowledge is handed down, just like real baseball. Know that the confines are relatively friendly, and we observe a gentlemen's code. The senior managers that actually win, are overwhelmingly generous, and you are in the right place to ask questions. What type of Ball Park, and what type of team are you looking to build? How do you like to play? Smallball, Bomber, Balanced? Pitching Dominant, RP Dominant? What's yer game? Spin the wheel. Who do you like? 8-)

You guys are right about everyone on the boards. Everyone is really helpful.

I was kidding about stealing teams (kind of, admit it or not, it would be hard to find a team that performed really well in your chosen park and them NOT draft similarly, even if stealing a team wasn't the original intent)

I do think it would be really cool to be able to click on, say, the Royals 1980, and then see how a bunch of players cards had performed in that particular park.

Even if you couldnt see completed teams...boy, stuff like that would be helpful to a rookie.

You can peruse the Diamond Dope website and search the "actuals". These are stats from completed Strat leagues and can be broken down to individual performances based on ballpark and cap. Sounds like this is what you are looking for........follow the link.

Wow

That is awesome.

FUDU has actually mentioned diamonddope to me a few times but I never remembered to check it out. I didn't realize what it was.

My god, I'm going to be unstoppable! :D

I will now be unreachable for the next 48 hours.
