I feel for Bernie. I had Sisler #1 because whoever had STB pre could get him, and Garner #2 because Pitt could get him and most of my under $4M guys next because NEL could get them. I had Sambito #3 and lost him. Not to Bos, but to NEL. That's annoying. Especially since they didn't have to protect anyone that might have had dual-team status.

I would agree with Bernie and Paul; while I didn't lose anyone to the NeL it certainly was a huge advantage to the NeL squad to have access to the under $4 mil players without worry about losing any players. Many of us by contrast had to sweat out the auto draft to see whether we got our guy or whether he went to another squad(in my case I lucked out in getting Bonds). But it does seem in retrospect to have needed adjustment.

I would support Bernie's proposed solution.

I like Bernie's solution too, as I don't have another lefty reliever to replace Sambito with, but I'm sure there is one out there somewhere. Just looking for an under 1M lefty specialist.

I didn't lose anyone to NeL, but I did bring this up to 2cityfan prior to the draft. I was kind of hoping that it wouldn't be an issue. No such luck apparently.
