HAL pinch hitting move

I need help understanding a HAL move. This is a $1M and under league, so all players must be $1M or less. In game 2 of the playoffs, I'm down 3 runs in the ninth. Two outs, guys on second and third... and HAL removes the right handed 3R Dick Green (.910 OPS in regular season vs RH) for the pinch hitter, right handed 1R Phil Garner (.740 OPS reg seas vs RHP). Garner's clutch is -2, while Green is a +6. Garner's Diamond Dope scores vs RHP are slightly higher (.770 OPS vs .740), but the clutch rating eliminates that advantage. I'm confused. Help.
