Top pitchers are more important in live drafts. Their scarcity becomes quickly noticeable.
Small ball does not appear to be a viable strategy at live drafts.
Manny Rameriz and other high injury risks are much more usable, and thus more valuable, than at lower caps.
Nev really does suck at live drafts in ATG6. That was not the case in ATGV. He hasn't played much live at 6 and if he had the average draft pick list, he wouldn't have made some of the more egregious picks that he made.
It helps to draft your two picks instantly when you have corner spots in the draft. Puts more pressure on the guy drafting after you.
Maddux and Pedro are both first round picks. I believe that I started the high draft of Pedro trend and Don and Salt quickly adopted the strategy. They are usually the only worthwhile picks if left near the end of the first round. Unless Bagwell is still there.
Cone, Darwin, Smoky Joe Williams, Joe Wood, and even Virgil Trucks are very useful spot starters. You should almost always have one of these guys on your roster to wreak havoc upon the inevitable Minute Maid and Hilltop parks that you will encounter.
In my opinion, only Bonds and Gibson are worthy of the top pick in the draft.
