I'm not complaining because it worked in my favor but how does DiMaggio make an error on a split-roll to the hitters card (Bonds rolling a 1-7)? I'm presuming the error is based on his throw? If so, how does an error get counted there?

If Miller Huggins was given the option of trying to score from first on Bonds' double and did so, then the defense gets the option of throwing home or holding the batter to second base. Looks like Dimaggio threw home and that didn't work out so well.

I'm guessing the same thing. Do you know how an error is calculated on this play? Is it something similar to a catcher's throw for steal attempts?

I believe it is a standard error roll based on his e rating.

In real baseball, it is also possible that the ball is driven to the wall and DiMaggio boots it on the bounce. Clear double, but misfield moves it an extra base or three.
