Crazy concept leagues for experienced managers

Crazy concept leagues for experienced managers

Sometimes we need a brush-back pitch to liven things up around here, or maybe there's some of us looking for new and interesting ways to burn those last few credits we have left ... on a weird theme league. Some ideas:

=================

1) Screw your neighbor. At four points during the season, after games 36, 72, 108 and before 144 are played, the three teams in last place can swap their ENTIRE ROSTER with any other team in the league, the team with the worst record choosing first. Since you can't trade ballparks, all teams would play in neutral (non-extreme) parks.

2) Booming economy. Teams start with an $80 million salary cap, and due to the unbelievable popularity of their sport, all games are sellouts and teams earn another $10 million each week after games 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126, and before 144 are played. By the end of the season, the salary cap has ballooned to $160 million.

3) Great Depression. The bloom has gone off the rose, and all teams struggle with bloated payrolls and empty seats. Teams start the season with a salary cap of $180 million, but have to make $10 million roster cuts each week after games 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126 and before 144 are played in order to make payroll. At the end of the season, teams have a $100 million salary cap.

=================

If there's enough interest in any or all of these leagues, I'd be happy to set up private leagues to get it done.

I would be interested in the second option with the increasing salary scale.

Interested in #2. How would you handle roster moves/selections in terms of who goes first, or would it be a frenzy of sorts?

I'd be interested in one or two.

Roster moves to take advantage of income could be made any time after midnight ET. I doubt there would be a "frenzy" but you never know.
