Is this a record?

Last night Len Barker had the inning from hell, pitching batting practice in the first inning to the tune of 12 runs on 6 HRs, 13 hits and 3 walks. Mercifully, one of the runners got thrown out on the bases, otherwise they'd probably still be batting.

Has anybody ever seen a bigger inning? My teams have tattooed Joe Sambito on several occasions when HAL put him in the game at F0 against a righty batting team in a righty boomer park, but never as bad as Barker got hit last night. Even at the end of the inning after giving up 6 HRs, Barker was still at F6. What does a starting pitcher have to do to be at F0 in the first inning? Anyway, HAL had the good sense to trot out Al McBean for the second inning and let him throw more batting practice as the assault continued.

Kudos to Paul_Long71 for having the guts and vision to assemble such an offensive juggernaut. After 57 games, with Yankee Stadium 56 as his home field, Bonds is .323 33 108 .496 .918 and is on pace to get 300+ RBI. Has anyone ever seen that from a hitter in a non-theme league? And this is in a league of managers all with career winning percentages near .530 or better. Paul's team is a league best 34-23. The cap is $100 mil.

Thankfully, it only counts for one loss.

I think Barker will have the flu the next time he's scheduled to pitch against those guys! - Bernie W

I've used Barker twice, and I wish he would get the permanent flu.
