Park Question for nexrad

Postby hackra » Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:14 am

All of the east teams are supposed to be in an "extreme pitcher's park".

What constitutes an extreme pitcher's park?

I was thinking about Petco (1,1,1,1) lowest total singles+HR
Griffith '41 (7,7,0,0) lowest singles total with zero HR
Candlestick (0,0,5,5) lowest HR with zero singles

would other parks also qualify?

as a quick guideline, I would have assumed anything from group #1 of the barnstormers event.

Where are we with this? I think we need 6-7 more people.

I think we'd be in. I'll talk to dad (we share this username as mikesblues has been retired for a couple years). Where are we at in regards to team make-ups? I saw possibly 6-7 more folks to fill the league.

Thanks guys! This is a better concept than the Beat the Boss theme league! :)

UPDATE:

Well, I talked to the Old Man, and it looks like we are out....I will be interested to see how this turns out, though.

And oh, yeah, on further analysis, am willing to let Joe Jackson go to a low error team (or the other normal platoon team), and use Roger Maris 5R in his stead.

Central is going to be an amusing division. If everything works as planned, Platoon batters will hurt reverse platoon pitchers, Reverse platoon pitchers will dominate reverse platoon batters, and so forth. I expect some skewed numbers from all teams, as every team should have a nemesis and an ownership.

I've been working on filling out remaining rosters for each type of team, putting them into a spreadsheet, and once I'm done - some time tonight - I'll post them in a separate thread to see if anyone wants to adopt one of the rosters to draft and manage. If we don't get at least 3 more (I'm counting 5 so far) we may just have to pass it off as an interesting idea that didn't get off the ground.

nexrad, on WIF (which I haven't played in like forever) they used to reward you with a free credit if you created a theme that filled up. Wonder if they still do that ? We should rally to Bernie to come up with some kind of reward in that fashion.

After all, a net of 11 x 24.95 seems like they can afford the one credit.

You and I have come up with and created a lot of themes over the years that went off. - MM

I have an interesting theme. But with that idea, I might save it to see if Bernie will pony up a credit.

I probably should have added that the chances of that becoming a reality are probably as close to nil as me winning the lottery, knowing how tight TSN usually is.
