SEARCH FUNCTION!

SEARCH FUNCTION!

Postby PJ Axelsson » Wed Jan 18, 2012 2:22 pm

When are we gonna get a working search function added to the message boards?

Either that or when is someone gonna tell me where to find it?

I feel like I'm stuck with AM radio, waiting for FM to come along.

I would think this is something that could happen now.

My view was that they firstseverely limited the usefulness of the search engine and then dumped it completely to hamper the nut jobs of the Podium and Smackroom forums in their efforts to dig up stuff to use against each other. They have run them out of town and eliminated the crap so perhaps they can put the better functioning search engine back

They do really need to bring back the search function. I used to searching for players I wanted to use and see everyone's link to see how they performed that season.

For what it's worth, it's true that whatever initially led SN to remove search is no longer an issue, and that theoretically it could be restored... but I [i:8c165e38be]tried[/i:8c165e38be], believe me I tried, but the programmer who was responsible did such a hack job to it that I couldn't figure out how. And he's long gone.

Anyway, from my original post about the site rebuild, which will launch in about 3 months:

"New forums. FINALLY. We'll probably be sticking with PHPBB, but if we do, it'd be a clean installation that can stay current with its new releases and features. And yeah, search functionality will be restored."

Let's hope so, it would be really weird around here if someone started bumping up threads from ATG 2!
