No waiver leagues

I'm in a no-waiver league called "Fugitives Of SOM Rehab" that's full and waiting for the go-ahead to draft.

There's two messages posted on the main page that says "This league's Auto-Draft/Frenzy time has not yet been set by the Commissioner." and "This league will not draft until the Commissioner schedules a time for the Auto-Draft/Frenzy."

My questions are:

Doesn't that seem like a heavy weight of responsibility placed on the one who sets up the league, not only to set the draft time, but to ensure it's not abused? When I left to go to Easter Sunday church services this morning, the league had 11 members. I was worried that the league would fill, and that the draft/frenzy would all occur while I was away from the computer. Luckily, that didn't happen, but what's to prevent something like that, which would obviously be unfair if the the time was set within a few minutes after the 12th team joins, without the knowledge of most of the league members?

Secondly, wouldn't it be better if all no-waiver leagues had their frenzy drafts at the same time each day, such as 5pm just like waiver leagues do? I really like the idea of making roster moves as soon as possible after your team is drafted, but it seems like the commissioner has too much power over the league, especially compared to the other 11 in the mix.

All I'm saying is I like these kind of leagues, and I think they would be more popular with the gamers here if it didn't seem so one-sided in favor of the person holding all the cards.

This is a known problem with frenzy leagues as implemented. It usually takes intervention by Bernie to get the draft to run.

I think the creator of the league should be able to set the time, but not the date, of the frenzy - that way everyone will know when it will happen.

I'm in the same league and have been waiting for Private Jet Mama's Boys to set the time and had some of the same concerns as you have KC.

I hope he's okay. What if something happened and he can't get to his computer? :/ That would suck.

But, I suppose we keep waiting for him to set the time ... but ... the league filled this morning, seems like he would have set it already if he knew that was the case ... ??

Or ... maybe that's just me.

I'm in this league also. If I had to guess, I would say he is probably off, enjoying the Easter holiday with his family, visiting relatives, etc. I am sure he will check in later on tonight; will probably set the Frenzy for some time Monday night, I'm thinking.

I am in this league too, having been in numerous leagues with PJMB you have no worries. Like modmark said, he is probably enjoying Easter.

Sorry gang :oops: . I still haven't gotten used to setting the frenzy time....and I was offline nearly the entire weekend due to work. Hope nobody was inconvenienced.
