Down time means waaaay too much Tinkering Time....

Ok, so I continue to mess around with the only pre-season team I have and of course the more I do, the more questions/doubts I raise in my head... and that is a scary thing!!

140M, playing in Forbes 41... hitter parks in rest of division.... franchise based theme.

1. With Hamilton and Simmons which defensive alignment is better.... 1(+3) in CF and 1(-1) in LF or switch them and have 2's in both? Does the arm in CF outweigh the ratings that much.

2. Would you ever consider using Kiner in LF in order to get Wagner (7m version) into lineup and move Arky to DH? Likely moves P Waner out of lineup.

3. Current plan is to use the 8.21 Delahanty at 3B... considering the 8.79 in CF and then using a Baker, Rose, Howard type at 1B or 3B. Crazy talk?

4. In Forbes 41, is the expensive Foxx worth the extra 4M enough to weaken another position?

So, now I have attempted to empty out some of this clutter to give those of you who are bored enough during this delay and want to espouse an opinion on something other than Bernie, SOM, and TSN.

Have at it!

40 views... no opinions.

Let's try this....

If [b:579fc75915]YOU [/b:579fc75915]were [b:579fc75915]BERNIE[/b:579fc75915], what should [b:579fc75915]HE[/b:579fc75915] do if this were [b:579fc75915]HIS [/b:579fc75915]team?

If's its 140m should have no problem going expensive Foxx but if its significantly weakening somewhere else, go cheap Foxx. I'd keep Kiner at DH and play Hamilton in CF, Simmons where he's a 1.

Id think about using the slightly cheaper version of Simmons in that park for extry cash purposes- and definitely the 8.21 version of Delahanty- much better hitter.

I like the one's in the field also and go with the weaker arm. Also agree with Salt on the cheaper Simmons in Forbes. I'd put Delahanty at third. Maybe post a link if you are still tinkering. We can help you butcher your team.

If it were Bernie, he would get Rob Deer and as many Brewers into that lineup so he wouldn't have taken the Pirates franchise. :)

You don't suppose Bernie has taken enough abuse, that you've got to go on about his baseball team managing skills?

Pitchers
Alexander, Pete (1915)
Carlton, Steve (1972)
Bender, Chief (1910)
Coombs, Jack (1910)

Gossage, Goose (1981)
Brandom, Chick (1909)
Knowles, Darold (1967)

Hitters (15)
CF-Hamilton, Billy (1894)
3B-Delahanty, Ed (1894)
SS-Vaughan, Arky (1935)
1B-Foxx, Jimmie (1932)
DH-Kiner, Ralph (1949)
LF-Simmons, Al (1925)
RF-Waner, Paul (1934)
C -Cochrane, Mickey (1929)
2B-Collins, Eddie (1911)

This is where I have landed as far as a team goes.... using Dave Cash off bench as a solid replacement for Collins (3inj) and Delahanty's risk.
