Just a crazy thought but...

No disrespect intended for anyone. Just a difference of opinion.
I must tend to get the oddball teams.

This team has no Hank. My 1, 2, and 3 hitters are Evers, Landis, and Boggs. Hardly all high OBP guys. 4, 5, and 6 are Murray, Jackson, and Ripken. Some power but not awesome power. 7 and 8 are Hershberger and Buford. They are 81 and 51.
For me this game works more like real baseball. My successful teams have all been strong up the middle, c, ss, 2b, cf. They've all had 1 or 2 power guys. and they all have had good bullpens.

[quote:3aa28ad9f5="sschu"]BTW, the idea for me originated with Coach Rich, we refer to these types of teams as "hurlers" teams.

Thanks for the kudos once again sschu .......

Here's my Hurlers team that lost in the finals to Munich Man:

And here's the opposite, a pitching team in a hitters paradise which also went to the finals:

Grindi,

The problem with extreme hitting teams in big parks is you design your pitching staff for small parks, using Faber, Vance, etc. Hence when you play at Griff your staff does poorly as its OBP is high, due to the BPHRs being low.

With the hurlers approach you can get some great values like Loes, Rommell and Wilks who will pitch reasonably well in a pitchers park. With a good pen, you play to be even by the 7th and try to win late.

My experience is that a well designed pitching team with 2-3 $10M SPs are difficult to beat consistently vs extreme slugger teams .
