Haas or....?

Haas or....?

Postby Minoso Express » Tue Jul 04, 2006 10:28 pm

I'm in a division with 3 other Forbes and a Fenway '67. The rest of the league: yet another Forbes, Griffith, Huntington, Busch, Astrodome, West Side, Baker Bowl, Fenway '46.

I've got:

O'Neill
Hernandez
Gehringer
Dykes
Bowa
McCosky
Dom D.
Haas

Frenzy rather than waivers and the only time I've seen something picked over more quickly than the FA wire was a bunch of drunken relatives tearing through some barbequed ribs last month.

So I picked up Haas and I'm wondering if he's called "Mule" because he's so bloody slow or....? Is it worth trying to work out a trade for a similarly priced (Snodgrass? Miller, though shakier D?), speedier, higher OB guy? Or will his "slugging" status on this team be more helpful to me in visiting hitters parks?

Not much left on the FA that's worth taking in RF. There's Gwynn, but... I don't think I need his bat and I'd rather not have the +1 in RF.

Haas is ok . He will get alot of doubles and hit for exceptable average . He's a snail on the basepaths . Look at Sam Rice or Kevin Bass for more speed , better obp , better D , with Bass offering a bit of pop.

Rice is gone. Bass looks like he'd do fine at Forbes, he has a better arm and fewer errors than Hass-- but what does using a 3 as opposed to a 1 in RF mean in Strat terms?
