Advice sought- Duke Snider vs Joe Dimaggio

Postby Rob55 » Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:04 pm

JoeD will produce roughly 20 more runs then Duke for a season "IF" there are no injuries..... which of course will not happen, but besides the injuries Snider gets the nod in errors and ARM .... tough call

In the $200mill leagues, most teams are usually 40-50mill under the cap. I have approx $42mill left. Dimaggio was offered to me by another owner for Snider. My biggest concern was the injury factor for Dimaggio. On the other hand, I have a lot of lefties in my lineup. I'm not thrilled with Delancey/Lollar & or the MI & I am trying to upgrade those positions.

I have all of the Sp's below. Any thoughts how they may perform in Olympic Stadium '80. (I made an error in my 1st email regarding the stadium-Olympic is correct/I got my leagues confused.)

1- W Johnson
2- D Dean
3- T Hughson
4- R Ruffing
5- C Erskine
6- S Carlton
7- M Lanier

Your pitching is decent... with Johnson, Lanier, Dean, Hughson and Ruffing in the starting slots. Erskine and Carlton are OK, but expendable if you can use them to sweeten a deal.

I'd try to either sell Snider or Speaker for upgrades at C, 2B or SS. You can always cobble together a decent DH.
