Fenway67 Lineup Suggestions...?

Postby Proverbial Psalms » Mon Jul 10, 2006 3:44 pm

I'm stuck on a lineup for this Fenway '67, DH Team

In addition to too many R's, I have no definite #2 hitter...
(Yount's DP's and Keller's lack of SB speed will hurt me)

Any suggestions, assuming I keep these players?

One rough lineup vs. righties...

1. Keller
2. Yount
3. Greenberg
4. Aaron
5. Murray
6. Schmidt
7. G. Thomas
8. Gordon
9. TBD... Catcher

Any comments, input would be appreciated.

One option i was given in a similar situation would be using Schmidt in the 2 hole. He's not gonna hit too much, but he'll walk a lot, and not a lot of DPs. He's got a better OBP than anyone else you've got except keller & greenberg. Or, you could use Thomas in the 2-hole if you don't think Schmidt is a viable alternative.

I have used Yount once batting second against LHP(behind Joe Morgan). He led the league in GIDP(36).

I tend to agree with you... Schmidt is likely a better option than Yount's DP's. If Yount were a B H&R I might consider it and increase the "hit & run" option settings, but Yount's a C...

The only place I could shelter myself from Yount's DP's would be to bat him AFTER Thomas... who has some W's, but a lot more HR's and K's.

Any other suggestions out there?
