HELP ...... YOUNT or MAYS???

Got abused in the autodraft, ended up first in waivers.

Amazingly, Yount and Mays are on the wire. Who would you take???

The rest of the pickings at SS are pretty slim, CF has more options (including: Joe D, Doby, Dom D, Agee, Lemon, Flood, D.Henderson, McBride), so I'm leaning towards Yount.

But, then again Willie Mays is Willie Mays ........ THOUGHTS???

:?

The other options are the key. If you have the cash to cover both positions, always take the tougher one to fill first. At least that's what I do. Go with Yount.

If you can trade for a SS pre waivers, (maybe whoever is behind you in waivers really wants Yount) then you can go for Mays. Else take Yount.

Hadn't thought of that option OT, I'll give it a quick shot today.

Take this for what its worth as I am Mr Semi Finals even in the first ring fling, take Yount as you can secure a decent CF more easily than a good SS 8)

geez, if i have Earl Combs in CF, it seems like a no brainer to me...take Willie. you can always get a decent SS, but you can't always get MAYS!! Can't believe he went undrafted....I have him first 95% of the time, and get him about 20% of the time! You can almost always get wagner at the very least.

Love Yount too, but I would go with Willie... :)

I would take Willie he'll hit 60-70 HRs playing in the polo grounds. Then get the best defensive SS and go from there.-olwill

Could not disagree more - this is an extreme offense team - it needs to hit throughout the lineup

Yount and Joe D work a lot better than Willie and Marion or Bush or Chapman

Would it be nice to have Trammell or Wagner and be able to go after Willie, yes! But there are no viable SS alternatives in the FA pool while there are lots of CF alternatives for Polo (Joe D, Agee, Doby, etc)

Did not look at the FA OT, so you might have a point (ok, you DO have a point! ). I was just thinking that, typically, straight up, I would take Mays everytime. But in this instance, I think I would also grab yount...

Yount first & Mays second, you never know. You said it yourself SS is slim pickings after Yount & there is plenty of depth in CF. :D
