He looks like he's a bargain.

I have used him twice, and the results were disappointing, but there is no reason he should not do better. HAL just hates me.

Buford runs good, gets on base and is low injury risk. His problem is where to play him, 2B is a no, 3B is a risk and there are usually better options in LF.

He does not hit much, low .200's would be typical.

im a big fan...obp is very high, especially for the price, switcy, n power both ways, usually put him in lf, but sometimes 3b, but whatever, big fan,,NEVER been dissapointed, and never had him hit anywhere close to .200, and often close to ,400 obp fwiw.

I've drafted him twice and cut him twice, he has been a non performing asset for me. I saw a homer park team once, that had him, and he had an incredible year. Card looks good and price is right, but buyer beware.

Great pick for a small cap league, like, oh, just for example, SMALL BALLERS 4!

In Fenway 86:
Buford, D. S LF 3(0)e4 631 141 20 18 90 105 11 27 .292 .441 .405

In Riverfront:
Buford, D. S LF 3(0)e4 581 114 19 18 62 102 15 18 .248 .391 .366

He's always been a pretty consistent value.

Like any player with an inordinate amount of walks, his BA suffers considerably.
This is something STRAT should look at, at these kind of players get penalized.
He looks like a bargain, but he rarely hits over .250.....

I used to use him once in a while. The season I'm appending below was my very first ATGII team. Had the same initial take on Buford that you do. I tended to use him mostly at 3rd. He wasn't great but wasn't bad either. I like him as a 2 slot hitter in homerun parks. Here he was in Dunn:

I next used him 21 teams later, in Yankee 56.
