I need help.

I am an addict.

This afternoon I reached rock bottom.

In my first 15 seasons, I win 4 titles. I'm hooked.

In my 16th season a 99 win team gets swept to end the season and loses in the semis. I hate my life.

Season 17 went miserably down the stretch and was put out of its misery at game 162.

Season 18 is going down the drain quickly.

Season 19 is off to a good start and I know it's merely a tease.

Season 20 is horrid so far and getting worse.

Gene Garber is putting out fires with napalm.

I decided this morning "I'm through". I can't take this any longer.

This afternoon I come home to pre-season team #21 and spend half an hour wondering how I can parlay Bake McBride into Barney McCoskey without sacrificing Willard Hershberger.

I am the Moody Mets and I am a Strat addict.

Thank you.

You [i:fb3e3e631d]could[/i:fb3e3e631d] buy the CDROM and a few select seasons. It won't be ATG, but it might satiate your fix until you can work Lou Criger into your plans.

You see, if you quit your job, then you won't have the funds to play Strat. Let alone buy the CDROM... and Adrian, maybe moody is a Mac user like me and CD ROM is useless.....

And at least you HAVE four titles Moody. I am in the preseason of teams 12 and 13, with one playoff appearance.

Of course, my first online Strat was 2002 cards (in early '04) and was playoff bound twice in three seasons, one lost in game 7 of the finals. Then I found ATG.....

I like Macs in principle, but in practice they are a pain in the arse.

My experience, especially lately, is that I've been happier and have had more of an outside-Strat life since I disciplined myself to a certain number of teams at any one time. This has improved my winning percentage as I can really dote on each team and manage them optimally.

Easier said than done, it took me awhile to implement it, but so far (knock wood) it's working.

There are worse things you could be addicted to.

What is the optimal number of teams? I started out with three. That lasted a couple months. Next thing I know, I have 24.

 PBTR, I [b:c4de5d7b0b]know[/b:c4de5d7b0b]! But after starting out truly disciplined, I have gradually let myself go and I am going nuts with anything less than three teams - and it's only getting worse. Chief, ya hit the nail on the head, although I certainly hope to keep it under 24 (is it Petrosian who had something like 30+ going at once???)... man, I just shook my head this afternoon at the thought of all this --- and thanks to one and all for assisting in the "poll" --- but yes, there are much worse things to be addicted to for sure!

For me, it used to be five teams each in ATG and 2005. Now with the invention of 1969, I keep it to four in each format, gradually phasing out 2005 so I won't be playing FOUR formats when 2006 comes out...

At my "worst" I've have 10-15 teams in each format. That's too much.

I was soooo proud to get down to 6 active, which has now become eight active, as well as three in pre-season, two drafting tonight, two live drafted teams wating to load, and two live drafts currently ongoing, for a grand total of [b:112c000e35]17[/b:112c000e35].

So much for self-control.

I do have SOME degree of self control, as I still have 7 credits to burn, but how long they will last (Muttdoc's Hell league, e.g.) is anybody's guess.

Hi, my name is Rick "lederhosen" Munich Man, and I am a STRAT addict.

I think I am bad, and the looks from my wife sometimes prove it, with two teams at once.
You see, I work full-time, which with commute equals about 55 hours/week average. Then there's maintaining a homelife. And a modicum of a social life. And trying not to go broke... that's a toughie.
How would I fit in more Strat? Certainly credits would help, but that means winning a league for once....
As it is, I have felt crazed lately having one active team, one team I commished in waiver mode today, and my Barnstormers League began drafting five days early.... - that's 3!
;) :D
