5 20 game winners anyone?

No, I did not have such a thing. But I am curious. Has anyone ever had a team with 5 20 game winners? What is the most wins anyone has posted by the 5th highest win pitcher?

Seems like a practical impossibility -- you would need a 100+ win
team with an even distribution of the victories and no bullpen participation
in the victories.

I have had several 5-man rotations, but the best win total of the 5th best guy was 12. I have seen a 13 win 5th best on another team. These
teams are generally 95+ win teams, thats a lotta wins for the worst of
5 starters.

For that matter, never even had 2- 20 game winners who start every
5th game on the same team. The only 20 game winners from every
5th day starters on [b:ac4725f9d7]*separate*[/b:ac4725f9d7] teams for me have been Pedro,
Babe Adams and Slim Jones. Reulbach has won close to 20, but not yet 20 for any of my teams.

Here is a team of mine with the number five starter getting 14 wins. I see four 25 game winners as more of a reality than five 20 gamers. Also, check out the stat line for Greg Harris on this team.

I'd say it's all but an impossibility. Here is a 5 man staff on a team of mine; played 159 games. Two twenty game winners. a 19 game winner, a 15 and a 14 game winner so far. My 5th starter could end up with 15 wins, as he goes later on tonight.

I had an 80's team with five pitchers that won: 19 19 18 18 14. That was a 108 win team.

I also had a 70's team that had 4 20 game winners, led by Sutton who had 26. this was a 107 win team:

Name T End. W L S BS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA WHIP BAL Salary
Sutton, Don '72 R S7* 26 11 0 0 332.1 235 106 90 94 276 31 2.44 0.99 E 8.13M
Hunter, Jim 'Catfish' '76 R S8* 22 14 0 0 309.0 281 171 152 81 166 53 4.43 1.17 4R 7.47M

Naturally, neither won the championship - the 70's team got swept.

Doubt anyone has managed it. It would probably have to be a team with a 4 man rotation and one RP that got all the relief innings(Wilhelm/Sutter Radatz).

Problem with that approach is that you have 100 wins committed before you factor a scrub reliever vulturing a win in extras or in the 6th...

Very hard to get that back of the rotation guy the 20, especially with 5 wins being leached from each starter by the stud reliever.

So what were the circumstances. Incredible stats on that team, so I don't think it was a competitive league at all, especially with the 8-1 ratio of runs scored to allowed.
