First batch of NEW cards - mid season report.

OK, here is the link to my team. Playing in Forbes '57, after 81 games:

I put as many of the new cards on my team as I could land (10). So far, been impressed with Ruth (the pitcher), K. Hernandez, J. Jackson, Duffy and Rogan. Still waiting for J. Robinson to make the magic happen. What about the rest of you?

Not impressed with the new Bill Terry...doesn't perform as well as his pre-existing card and to me he grossly underperforms. Duffy will never put up Cobb numbers in the avg department which is disappointing but he has his moments. Marginal success with Thompson. Very good returns on Delahanty and Jackson, especially Jackson.

Hugh Duffy has been as good as advertised for me

Nostradamus has been reincarnated! Seriously, how can you possibly say that? He's unlikely to hit .440 here, but it's not impossible. He does, after all, have 57 hits against lefties, with 6 ballpark HR's too. Given an appropriate LH pitching mix, and a little luck, he could really rock.

Never said Duffy wasn't going to "rock", I only compared one aspect of his game (.avg) to one only one player in the game (Cobb). In 16 of the 20 leagues that I am in with the new cards Cobb (1911, 1912) is hitting for a higher average than Duffy. Now granted this is a small sampling that can change over the course of many FULL seasons but I believe the spirit of this thread was a mid season report and how things look up to this point.

So far, Id agree with OakAth on the Cobb vs. Duffy thing-
not that Duffy aint a great card, but so far in the leagues Im in looks like Cobb is outhitting him;
Now part of that is that Duffy's dominant side is left, and so am slightly less likely to throw a lefthander at him if I have a choice-

Im playing mostly high cap leagues which means in general hes going up against the top SPs all the time- but same with Cobb.
