Choose 2 of the 3 Outfielders for my team

Small Ball team Forbes 09.
24 team League
100 Mill
5 of 6 parks in division are small ball and 15 of 24 teams are in pitchers parks.

Speaker will stay in CF, but which one! One of the 3 (Shoeless Joe, Heilman or Billy Hamilton must go) Tried to trade for a SS and no luck. Still need one)

Any other advise of upgrades/down grades are appreciated (especially pitchers). Have not played small ball much but seem to have a good nucleus here.

Thanks

any chance you could trade one for the new Delahanty? you could play him at 3rd and use the Lindstrom money on a SS or SP

also for that strong of a hitting (small ball) team I'd rather go to a Forbes '57 or something with high bp singles....but that's not too big a deal.

Obviously for pitchers, look for guys that have bp# that will become outs. These pitchers generally are shunned due to giving up too many hr's in hitting parks. Guys like Seaver come to mind. Not saying he's great, just that his bp# will be outs with that many pitching parks in your league.

if you are facing a bunch of RHSP i would keep jackson and then probably heilmann. if you are facing several LHSP i would keep hamilton and heilmann.

which SS are available?

Divison (6 teams) has 7 LHers (one of which is mine) so 6 and 4 are on one team.

Their aint much at SS, Cronin and Bush are only decent ones over 5 mill

why are you carrying 3 catchers?

I would dump Hamilton and Killefer, upgrade Sisler to the 1920 card, upgrade Gibson to his '69 card, and use the other $2 million to grab Cronin for Bush.

I think you'll have some pocket change left over. Maybe you can upgrade Raymond or one of your other starters. Big walkers are not great small ball players.

Also, why is practically your whole bench lefty mashers? Don't you think you ought to have at least one guy off the bench that hits RHP?

You had a pretty good draft. Trying to put together that cast of characters in a 12 team format is hard enough let alone doing it in a 24 team setting. Reduce Sisler's card, you'll get almost the exact same performance out of it for 3 mil less and personally I would do the same for Collins. You may take an injury hit once in awhile but the 7.25 mil card is worth it on performance and savings towards the cap. Put the money towards pitching (my preference) or maybe upgrade Speaker.

Traded Hamilton AND Jackson for Luke Appling and Al Simmons. Looking at the new Hamilton and new Jackson, there performances so far in the leagues I have seen them have been a bit uninspiring. Hope they both do well for the Critters (Certainly is a better park fit for Forbes 65 then mine in Forbes 09)

Made a bunch of other moves as well.

i would downgrade Walsh to a low WHIP starter thats has alot of BP HRs, such as Ferguson Jenkins, or for a reverse righty, I have found in leagues with lots of pitching parks and LH hitters, Joel Horlen is excellent.
By doing that, you will have enough to spend on a good fourth starter and upgrade your catching sitch possibly.

Replace Walsh with Horlen: gives you $4.59 mill plus the 4.34 you already have for a total of 8.93 mill.

You could have a fourth starter such as Drysdale or Lolich (under 5 mill each) and then a LH hitting catcher such as Santop....
