Jeter, Derek (2009)

Jeter, Derek (2009)

Postby cristano1 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 1:45 pm

Can someone explain to me how Derek Jeter 2009 card is the best in the entire ATG6 set? This is based on all cards with over 60,000 plate appearances, or the equivalent of 100 seasons.

It looks at all managers who used the Jeter card on a team they built on sportingnews. The Jeter teams average the most wins.

Diamond Dope has him at 0.477 over 178 seasons

Bad data somewhere

couldnt "bad data" come out after this post made someone draft him in the finals first? Managers like Petro are "copy everything" managers. I was hoping he would use him on a few teams first.

I doubt there could be enough data that quickly to go from best winning percentage to 0.477. I would be shocked if the 2009 card was a winning card for anyone in ATG. Perhaps you were looking at data from the acutal 2009 game. Maybe he does well there where there are not so many great shortstops. In ATG that card is just not going to hit with all those bad clutch slots and defense comparatively speaking will be weakness.

This thread is full of so many confusing statements that I don't know what we are talking about. :? If you look at the dope Willie wells leads with most uses as well 2nd highest win pct behind Wagner's 7.92 mil card. No?

The 7.06 Jeter card does just fine in 100mil. I use him there constantly.

If I am to understand this correctly, what you were trying to do here was trick Petro (the "copying manager") into drafting Jeter in the finals, thereby ruining his team with an overpriced SS....or something to that effect. This plan was ruined when djmacb prematurely posted the bad data.

I'm not sure why you think Petro would give even 1/4 of a **** what your opinion of Jeter is.

Nevertheless, that plan is diabolical. Even if it's diabolical in a LLoyd Christmas kind of way.

Sorry to ruin your plan Weinberg. I'm sure Petrosian would have been completely taken in.
