Off topic CD-ROM Strat Football!

Postby Simon31 » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:25 pm

Recently I have indulged myself in about 12 old seasons for the Strat CD-ROM Football game. I'm having a blast drafting leagues with some of these old great cards like Jimmy Brown, Mercury Morris etc. Does anybody else out here play this and if so, have you ever played HTH against somebody in the game lobby? I keep going there but I never see anybody there. Anybody? :?

Is there any way strat football can be played like the baseball? I remember playing it late 60's early 70's and loved it, would be very happy if it made it's way to being played like we do the baseball.

Danny, TSN had the strat football on here years ago. I never played it but my understanding was the program never worked that well and people lost interest. The CD-ROM version is far superior. I have been taking about 16 different teams from different years and doing "custum league with FREE AGENCY". Basically, you keep a teams defensive cards and everyone else gets tossed into the mix. Then you draft all your starters and backups much like you do here. I've had Jimmy Brown in the same backfield with Mercury Morris and guys like Lance Alworth, Charlie Sanders and Cliff branch as recievers. Tom Brady QB's the bunch! I typically draft 2 of the 12 teams in the league. The computer drafts 10 of the teams and does a very capable job of it. Even the computer's play calling is tough! The CD-ROM version allows you to play over the net by entering a game lobby. You can challange other players or draft leagues this way. I'm not sure how to do it as I've never actually done it before.
I'm more than willing to give it a try though.
Nev, I know I sent you some copies of players from old teams I still have. You would LOVE the cards on some of these guys! The 60's and 70's teams host a ton of amazing cards to play with! You can even change the settings to input your own dice rolls! Like playing FTF without actually being FTF!

Dave, the Baltimore Colts were one of my favorite teams in the late 1960's (after the Giants of course :D) I was probably one of the few kids in New York rooting for the Colts to beat the Jets in the Super Bowl.
