Thoughts on my second team?

Do whatever it takes to grab Cuyler & J. Jackson or either Alou or Valentine (all FAs). I think Earl Wilson may give up a few too many HRs for your park.
An Ebbetts champ for reference:

You must get Cuyler or Jackson. I would go for Cuyler first. Trade out Boggs for Cuyler and use Rose at 3rd. Willett is also a place to save money. I would downgrade him to Holtzman. Lefty Leifield never performs for me either. I would also use Bush over Peckinpaugh due to the injury issue.

You have to have a better ss...good options on the wire for you are

Peckinpaugh
Aparicio
Bush
Concepcion

I think Seaver and Blue are better suited to pitchers parks personally, but I do not see alot on the wire that looks better. Keep your eyes open for guys with no bphrs.

good luck! :)

Zolio isn't worth carrying his defense, IMO, a 2 as SS with high E's and a 2 in CF is more than some folks like.

Solid hitting team. Is Dom D out there to improve CF?

Good luck

I like Dom, but I sure wouldn't drop simmons for him....and dropping rice does not give you the $$ for Dom (who is available)...

Looking at the Wire, I would drop Seaver for Brecheen, and that would give you enough $$ to upgrade Blue to Holtzman...

I was thinking Rice would go for Dom, not Simmons

NJ schooling

I'd chuck hitting to get a better D at SS.

A few thoughts -

1) I third the SS thought. Peck and Concepcion would be my first choices. You can't afford 3s at 1st and 3rd along with a high E 2 at SS

2) Swap out Hooper for either a SP with no rating or a better cheap reliever (Dreisewerd, Shoffner, Garman, Osinski)

3) Your best hitters are all RH except for Ripper. I'd think about swapping Campy for a Dickey/Berra type, which also saves you a little cash for SP upgrades.

4) Don't leave off with Bishop. Despite his high card OBP, he's an anchor on the bases.
