Opinion on Dodger "65" team

First time in this ballpark and wanted an opinion on the team. It's a theme league with no pitchers above 6mill.

You need to lop off one of those 5 SPs. Suggest Feller so you can go with a 4 man rotation. I'd run your guys through Diamond Dope, and also consider Osteen & Nolan. You probably do not want to go with 3 lefties, although I will confess to having done so.
Lollar & Gordon don't fit your park. Battey & Gibson are available backstop FAs. Not much there at 2b; try dangling Gordon to a slugger squad via trade.

Thanks, I had thought about Gibson at catcher cause I wasn't that high on Lollar, Gordon might be difficult to trade but I'll see what I can get. Feller's numbers actually look real good thru Diamond Dope. I sent all of them thru Diamond Dope, not ony with my stadium ,but the rest in my division as well. I have Forbes, Griffith and Oakland "90" in my division.

If you like Feller, keep him, but it's inefficient to have 4 * SPs AND him. That's $$ better spent on your offense.

In your home and division parks, Gordon is a waste, and Ott will likely underperform too. I would try to trade both of them. And I agree about Feller ... way too much money to sink into a fifth starter. An obvious place to upgrade is LF. McCormick, Rolfe, Pesky, Mays give you a really nice core--add another park-appropriate bat or two and you'll have a nice team.

Who would you suggest in place of Ott, just looking for ideas. Gordon is gonna be tough to unload... :roll:

yes i would unload on gordon also. i would either drop gordon for a 2b that can hit righties and play some d and platoon with maz or get a 2b ooutright . i think that money can help upgrade your 4th starter or get another pen mate. other then that i like your team . i just started a dodger 65 also. started well ill post the link. but keep in mind of course i was able to get pitching and you cant over the 6 mil.

If Avila is available, I'd grab him in this kind of league, he will hit a ton. Keep Ott and put him in the 3 hole in front of Mays, he will score 130+ runs there. Hard to find anyone else to that. I'd take your cash left and get a nice lefty power bat in place of Devore to protect Mays against righties. Also, if you're going to play Gibson, drop Dempsey for a .50'er and upgrade the BP some more. You don't need Templeton either, because Pesky will play every game.

OK, here's where it stands..haven't made up my mind about Feller yet..but would someone think me crazy to use Williams in LF?

I think you're crazy to spend > $5M on a 5th starter. :wink:
